Culinary delights and experimentation (Part II)

Oct to Nov 2018: Went back to SCAFA to learn fundamentals of cake decoration. This was indeed a fun set of classes where the aroma of a baked cake kept your spirits up.
Be it butter icing, ganache, fondant or food paint - even our most helter -skelter attempts looked lovely (in our eyes). If baking and meringue took time, cake decor literally takes the cake. Patience is indeed a virtue when you are attempting to decorate and keep your grubby hands away from eating the cake before it gets decorated!
Special thanks to Chef Emily without whose encouragement and good humour the classes would not have been as much fun.

See it to believe!

Prep for next class as the fondant needed to set

The cake I baked and painted
The cake was demolished by my colleagues at work. It was a pound cake -  hard to resist ;-)
5 tier Jam cake

This was delicious and we used up all the flowers

Frosty is all set

My fav icing attempt!

Daisies are easy to make and such happy flowers too

Frosty on the cupcake
The cup cakes were shared with my dance school instructors. A good thing too 'coz it was after the showcase so now they could indulge in the calories ;-)
Food and Joy - shared - only multiplies. Hope my next few attempts are just as tasty and happy!
