An all women's trip from Dubai - short weekend getaway in Jan 2018.

The Telal Resort is on the out skirts of Al Ain in Remah district and is easily reachable. This is not to be confused with Tilal Liwa resort! The accommodation and dining facilities at the resort are best in class and this is further enhanced by the warm hospitality of the staff.

We took a cab from Dubai around 1530-1600hrs and reached the resort around 1830 hrs (thanks to GPS and great roads in UAE). The resort is bang in the middle of the desert and appears to be an oasis (much like rest of Al Ain).

We had quite a bit of fun at the fire pit near our cottage and spent the night playing cards!! The oryx skull and horn skeletons were a tad sinister though once the lights were switched off.

The next day was crisp and sunny. Photo shoot aside, we explored the Arabian desert safari organised by the resort. During winters the same area doubles up as a game reserve.

The wildlife spotted included 2 varieties of gazelle and the Arabian Oryx. We also spotted quite a few birds at the pond near our cottage.

The resort has zipline for those adventurous, a pool and recreation area for families and a locally supported village for those wanting to explore the Emirati way of life in the desert. While we stayed overnight, suggest a 2-3 day to completely explore or rest and recuperate as the case may be.
We are yet to decide whether it was the sunrise among the dunes or the bonfire under the stars that was our Aha moment. Highly recommend the resort and getaway to others (via Tripadvisor too).
